Microsoft .Net Framework Assistant Add-on for Firefox

I’ve recently installed .NET 3.5 in my PC after the installation I found that a new add-on is in my Firefox add-on list. Interestingly without a method to uninstall it. I wonder why Microsoft make something like this for Firefox?

There are some methods through which you can remove this add-on from your Firefox.

1. Non-registry based method

2. Registry based method

1. Remove C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Windows Presentation Foundation\DotNetAssistantExtension folder and restart your Firefox and check the add-on list.

2. Type regedit in your run and open the registry editor. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions location and locate the following entry {20a82645-c095-46ed-80e3-08825760534b}. Right click on the entry and delete it. Restart the machine. But before modifying your registry it would be wise to make a copy of your registry.
